Phillip Gold is a lawyer by training who finds that
investigating and solving his clients' problems is a lot
more interesting (and lucrative) than just presenting them
in court. Written in a style that is reminiscent of the
hard-boiled novels of Raymond Chandler, Mickey Spillane and
Dashiell Hammett, the Phillip Gold mysteries offer action
and suspense to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.
I've finished two complete novels featuring Gold: A
Fleck of Gold and All That Glisters. Follow
the links to the left to read the first chapter of each.
Contact me if you wish to see more.
I've also written the set up for two further Phillip Gold
novels — the first, a prequel that finds Gold still in law
school, facing a serial killer with a fascination for the
women in Gold's life; the second, a novel following on the
heels of All That Glisters, tentatively titled
The Gold Figure, which finds Gold delving into a
tragic period of Canada's past. Although I think it is well
written, I have taken a step back from the subject matter
of the prequel and removed it from this website. The first
chapter of The Gold Figure, however, is here for
you to enjoy.
You will also soon find several Phillip Gold short stories
for your reading pleasure as well. So enjoy and please send
any comments you have to me at mark.walma@gmail.com.
